The best design always starts with deep listening to our client’s inspiration, aesthetic, and vision for how they want to live within a home. Only from there can we formulate a plan that is truly grounded in the kind of trust required to embark on the design process. This recent project, a stunning home in the Irvington neighborhood in Portland Oregon, was showcased in the Wall Street Journal Mansion section.

Homeowners Treasure and Eric Heinle opted to preserve the original floorplan of this 1914 historic home, a rare decision in this era of wall-toppling, open-plan living. But when your client wants to honor the home’s original architectural spirit while making a home truly theirs, design magic can happen.

Here we were able to embrace a bold color palette, playful patterns and timeless textiles to create a cohesive design update reflective of their personality while honoring this classic Craftsman home.

The Portland homeowners felt like their 175-square-foot kitchen was the right size, so they focused their efforts on creating a colorful, eye-catching space. The petite kitchen with blue marble countertops is still a favorite gathering place for family and friends.
