Tucked into a private grove of aspens in Gimlet, just outside of Sun Valley, Idaho, this ground-up 6,466 sq. ft. new-build overlooks the Big Wood River, with dramatic mountain vistas.

Emerald De Gournay wallpaper in the dining room. A gold lattice mirror reflects hand-painted gold peacocks. Modern Eos Chandelier joins classic Karni bone-inlay lamps on the breakfront.

The Powder Room’s dramatic transformation was inspired by the client’s passion for haute couture. Liberated from its bland existence, this diminutive room —located off the center hallway on the main level—is dressed to impress in dazzling floor-to-ceiling Gucci “Marble” wallpaper. Urban Electric Hockney sconces in a custom paint color and an antiqued silver-leaf Tennyson mirror join a pedestal sink. No guest could forgot the discovery of dashing vision and decision found inside this formerly prosaic space.

The Butler’s Pantry off the kitchen went down to the studs and was rejuvenated from a dated and drab appliance depot to a deep and dramatic destination. This home bar has all the luscious detail that says: “Stay awhile. What can I get for you?”

The strength of darkness and seductive shine are magnified by Farrow and Ball’s “Mahogany” in a full gloss with seven coats. A warm walnut counter and backsplash, where an undermount sink from Kallista in a hammered nickel is joined by a Waterworks faucet.

Brass mesh and regency metalwork from England front the uppers. The bamboo hardware is from Modern Matter. Ceiling-mounted fixtures from Urban Electric illuminate the custom multi-piece crown designed by Maison and used throughout the home.

The family room is warmed by a Francois and Co. fireplace, and a shimmering Prato wallcovering on the ceiling.
